Always tricky to remember the icky
I wish all days were free days.
I still find it hard to believe I actually live in the city centre of Amsterdam.
It's so cool. I live in a shoe box, but it's MY shoe box, you dig?!
Usually, on the very last day of the year I do a recap of the Highs&Lows.
Something I started all the way back in 1998 when I was bored on a lazy afternoon, lol.
Since I cannot break this tradition now that I am old, it is time to make up my H&L list of 2009....
Only, back then it was quite easy to sum up a whole year. Nowadays, i find it hard to remember what happened this year, just because it was so much! Starting the year with a beginning romance with AV that fizzled out as rapidly as it began...The travelling was fierce early this year: Milan, Tunis, Ploiesti... And then... all quiet on the work travel front. So I did some travelling myself, to Lille, Antwerp, Paris, Ibiza... And pooh what else? Oh yeah, came summer time was all about finding a place to live in Amsterdam (thank you my dearest friend I for making it happen, LOVE YOU SO MUCH GIRL!! BLESS YOOOOOUUUU!!) which meant friend I and I went into all the nice neighbourhoods to see all the wonderful dumps that were available for extortionate amounts of money (crisis, schmisis) After summer the work travel picked up again... I had another shortlived fling with a gorgeous, soft mannered and kind German boy (when it ended, I was very sorry for that. Man I liked that boy so much!!!!! He was like totally Hugh Dancy meets Safin *sigh*) And I did not even mention all the lovely nights out; the fab trip to London for work and my primark shopping fun and all the laughs I shared.

2. Making wonderful new friends: L!!!!!! Love you girl! Briiiii!! Smart, sassy ladies that I am very thankful and honored to call my friends
3. what the heck: my blonde hair :) After years of wanting to go blondish... I finally did it!
4. My city trip to Paris with my darling sister... I love spending q-time with my bestest girl in the world!! She's the best sister anyone has ever had, ever. No really.

6. Sis feeling better; coming back stronger; trendier (liking the new look hunny) and better than ever. 2010 will be YOUR year sweetie
Low's
Always tricky to remember the icky.
1. Friend F going away to live in Ozzie for a year last June, buhu
2. Very good Friend S leaving me tooooo, for 4 months to be with her boyf in NZ.
3. Living in N, was no fun any more.... def a low for me
4. The stress of moving was horrible
5. B = no fun any more
6. Fighting with my mom @ Ibiza
7. The horrible weather @ Ibiza hahahaha
8. Love life is not getting a good grade this year. (Sorry A & F.)
9. Seeing my sis suffer was heartbreaking
Now, don't be fooled by the longer icky list than the good list. You see, the good points much outway the bad ones. But I am happy this year is almost over. Am curious about tonight, am spending it with fierce friend AB, but don't know her friends... so we'll see how it goes. Hopefully a fierce new beginning! Who knows what 2010 has to offer.....?

The prude goes nude
Went to Zuiver tonight.
It was.... an experience.
So many, many naked people, all mixed together like it was nothing.
And perhaps it is no big deal, that men & women all wonder around in one big room, BUTT naked and chill.
I cannot believe I did it hahahahhaa. I am very much a prudish girl. (I was the only one covered up in the sauna) but other than that, there was no escape.
Never, in a million years, did I ever think i would be chatting about travelling to BA with my friend, completely relaxed and in the NUDE with strange men present, also in the nude, and very much able to see me and all my wobbly bits
and then the DINNER.... Can you imagine having dinner with a bunch of ppl in bathrobes? And you're allowed to bring your own, so it was a mixture of people in their house robes and clean white Zuiver robes. So surreal!!
The guy sitting next to us, turned out (as I noticed when we excited) to be the best dressed person ever (really liked him, very much my type: rugged beard, dark hair, scruffy trendy clothes, whroar) so weird to see people naked before you actually see them in clothes.
Any how, it was a good experience, lol, but nevertheless an experience.
I am def going back soon (am soooo relaxed now....) what a place!

PS, forget D, seriously. I am rather looking forward to my non date but possibly a date with A :) next week....

Brunette versus Blonde
once upon a time a girl decided to run into the kinki kapper and asked to go blonde. Kinki declared the girl for crazy; stupid and weird. (true, true and true) Three hours; a Patricia Paaj Playboy and lot's of tea later and TADAA!I really looooove the new look and will stay this way for a long time. Blonde's DO have more fun...... XO
Spa Zuiver
Yesterday was fantastic! Friends rule :)
Decided today, rather spontaneously that L and I want to spend the rest of the year (lol) bathing in relaaaaax mode. So we are going to Spa Zuiver.

However, the one incignificant, small, teeny tiny thing I didn't realise? It's all in tha nude... :s (GREAT, after all the xmas pounds lol)
Am also going to the Hermitage tomorrow + maybe Van Gogh museum too this week with D?? Verdict still not out on the Christmas smooch between us.

Shiiiiin
My darling friend is in NZ now!
Amsterdam is not the same without you, buuhuu.
BUT, I am so happy that you arived safely in NZ and that you're living the dream :)
Meanwhile, my actions caught up with me (D and I were a little bit too obvious at the party, making people gossip & guess) and even I, myself don't know where we stand....
Am having dinner with L tonight... Oh dear...
why do I feel like a child meeting the principle?!??!
How can I explain what happened, when I don't even get it myself??
ODDNESS. Ladies & Gents, I am in for an interesting evening... to be continued!!

welcome
Did everyone survive the Xmas days OK?
Had a fabulous time @ a xmas party last night at B's house but we all drank a little bit too much vino and now I feel less than rosy. (Even if D texted me to say he is of course feeling fine. MEN :))
Best part of the evening was talking favorite bands with D and a stranger.
made me want to listen to Husky Rescue forever :)
Am meeting my Italian friend L. tonight for drinks and I will try to take him to Cafe Twee Prinsen. There are countless cafe's in my "hood" and I have been meaning to go there for ages now, but everytime I go over there.. it's closed for a private party?!?!?! Better luck tonight eh!
